Coach proud after Pararoos' loss to Scotland

The Pararoos have been beaten 2-0 by Scotland at the IFCPF World Championships qualifiers but have still booked their spot at next year’s tournament in Argentina.

Australia’s Paralympic football team fell behind early on after Blair McGregor scored a wonder goal from outside the area for the Scots.

The highly-rated Scotland dominated possession but Kai Lammert’s side did look dangerous at times on the counter attack.

The second half followed a similar path and Scotland’s control eventually told with Kyle Hannin scoring to put the result beyond doubt.

“Whilst we are not happy with the loss, today the boys showed great Australian spirit, along with great tactical awareness and we should be proud of them,” Lammert said.

“Scotland is a team that trains together on a regular basis and we managed to improve on our performance from our last meeting against them.
