Biography

I was born on the 3rd of July 2003. Although I was a very active child, I frequently fell while on the move. I was diagnosed with right-sided hemiplegia at the age of two years.

From early on, my favourite toy was a ball, and as soon as I was able, I kicked everything I saw and began to develop a mighty left kick.

I attended Bethel Christian school from age four, and when I was six years old, began playing with the school team. Even at this age, I kicked with great gusto, causing all other players to get out the way. My goal seemed to be to keep the ball off anyone else, including my own team, and as my strength exceeded my control, this did not always end well!

As I gained experience and maturity over the years, with various soccer clubs, soccer proved to be my enduring passion. With great determination, assisted by various coaches, physiotherapists and others too numerous to mention, I learned to compensate for the challenges of life with cerebral palsy, and developed my skills and strategies.

Joining Football West’s program for kids with CP at the age of fourteen was an important and exciting step for me. I was privileged to play for WA at Valentine Sports Park in Sydney and this was the start of a noticeable blossoming of my confidence and maturity. I live the game, study the skills of great players and spends hours at my pitch (which me and my dad built together) practising diligently.

I was nervous when I started (with para soccer) because I was the youngest player – probably still am – and now I hope to have the honour and privilege of playing for Australia. Thank you to everyone who has had a part in encouraging me, and making this all possible.
