World no36 India get their tournament underway with a game against a Thailand side who will be on a high after securing a point against Australia.

After showing disciplined defence against the CommBank Pararoos, we may see a different side to Thailand today, utilising their attacking threats up top.

The CommBank Pararoos will be determined to secure their first win of the tournament, after Thailand held them to a draw on matchday one. However, standing in their way is world no3 Iran, who impressed in their 3-0 victory over Japan last night.

Daniel Campbell started his campaign with a goal and will be hoping to continue where he left off. For Iran, Torabi Abbas was highly impressive on his way to a brace and will be an important player for the CommBank Pararoos to try and defend.

Last time these times played, Iran were 2-0 victors in the IFCPF World Cup 2022. However, the CommBank Pararoos will take a lot of positives from that performance. With 12 months more experience under the belt of the young squad, there is no reason why they can't compete with the tournament favourites this time around.

Tickets are still available to watch the game at the Home of the Matildas at La Trobe University, Bundoora. You can buy tickets here, or click here to watch the game live on SBS on Demand.
